81, passed on March 18th with her loving family by her side.
Born in St. Miguel, Azores, A daughter of the late Joao DeSousa and Francelina Jesus DeSousa.
She is survived by 6 daughters, Grace DePina, Maria Palmira Burgo, her husband Lucas, Ana Escobar, her husband Maurice, Fatima Lopes, her husband John and Escolastica Fernandes, her husband Danny, and Diane Almeida, her husband Steve, a son, Horacio Alves, his wife Amanda, a sister, Julieta Ferreira, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Maria Alda Janeiro.
Maria retired from Rhode Island Textiles at the age of 65and loved going out to eat with her family and decorating for every season and holidays. Her most precious possession was her 1993 Toyota Corolla.
Her funeral will be held Friday, March 23rd at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket at 10am.
